Up with the chickens this morning! They were definitely surprised by all the new sounds in the neighborhood. Gracie was on the alert! The hens all went stock still when she sounded the alarm! Shannon you asked if they have personalities or character. I was so impressed how Gracie went from worried to calm when I called her by name and assured her everything was fine. Terri says she is the Alpha female in the flock. How interesting that a hen will take on the role of Rooster if none are present. Her job is to protect the flock and when she calls out a warning the reaction of the flock is so interesting!
